Spent this Friday night at a dive bar called "the Zoo" in Lincoln enjoying some great blues by Magic Slim rockin' out on a vintage Jazz master, backed up by Little Slim on a beat up old purle Telecaster.
I know many of us are giggin' out every week, and checking out big names when they come around, but its easy to fall out of the local loop.
Like many, I have felt the pinch of a rough economy coupled with the increasing demands of married/ office life, and attendance at local performances has drastically decreased.
I walked by the Zoo, saw a poster in the window, and decided to check out an old favorite on a whim. My wife and I dropped less than $40 on the cover and drinks for the best night out we have had in a weeks.
I want to encourage my fellow Strat players to continue/ renew/ or begin to support your local acts, even if your gigging out regularly. After all, there is nothing like live music.....

So true. It's easy to forget everyone else out there doing same thing you are. And it's fun to watch sometimes instead of always being the one playing. 8)
