I just picked up a 1998 MIM white Strat for $200 at a local Pawn Shop. They had it for $375 for a couple months, just lowered it to $250 and was able to walk out the door for $200. It looks to have been barely played, the strings must have been original, took pliers to get them out! I took it apart to clean it up. Decided to put a Callaham steel block on it ($60) and a pair of Custom Shop Texas Specials ($150). A good set of 11's and WOW. I know you can buy a brand new MIM for about the same price, but these upgrades made this baby sing way better than any stock MIM. It's pretty much my own built Custom Shop. I play mostly Blues and this baby has got screaming tone and sustain!

I'f I can find another deal like this, I'll put a set of '69 CS pups on it for that real vintage Rock-n-Blues tone. Ok, I'm a gear head, love modding all my gear!

Love to hear what others have done.
