I have two MIM Strats, both with (I think) are Rosewood. I tried to take the best pics I could of the two side by side, the one on the left is much lighter colored wood than this picture even can show, it's a 98. The one on the right is a nice dark rosewood '95 Tex-Mex special edition. Can anyone tell me if the left one is rosewood, any maybe the MIM's just use a lower quality wood, or is it something else?

And how would best be to treat the wood, Lemon Oil?

Thanks

The left half of the right one looks like the left one.

Wood is wood, wood grain is wood grain. They could have been cut from the same tree. The grain and tint is just the luck of the cut it seems.

Their both rosewood. As a 20 year cabinetmaker, woodgrain can greatly vary from log to log. Color and grain just differ................. 8) Mike

Thanks everyone for your replies. I assumed the left was Rosewood, even though it was so light in color. Thought maybe since it was a standard MIM the quality of wood was not as high as a MIA. But it plays well
