Hi,I hope someone can help me identify what type of strat I have.It is I believe Honey Blonde in a satin finish the serial # Z2129937.The headstock says Fender Stratocaster and directly under the word Fender is Made in USA and on the top of the headstock it say original contour body. The neck has the skunk stripe. The neck plate is blank which along with the satin finish is the part that is confusing me .Most of the strats I see have something on the neckplate and I haven't seen any standards with the satin finish.Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks

Z"-prefix serial numbers denoting the new millennium appeared on U.S.-made instruments in 2000. Z0 denotes 2000; Z1 denotes 2001, etc.

So it is a 2002 made American Strat as far as it being a Stain finish I am not sure if it is a special edition or what...I know the highway one comes in a honey blonde stain finish but I don't think they started making those until about 04....

I was thinking Highway 1 also, but I too think that was too early for the Satin Finish.

Any scuffs of buckle burn on the back of it? Is it possible that it was re-finished?

I did some googling on this and Fender did make a American Stain Finish Limited edition run of Strats but could not find a timeframe, and most of the limited editions have a different SN#. Yours has a standard SN# for a 2002 Am Strat.

Maybe it was a mis run or something? Like I have mentioned a number of times on the Forums MF has a distribution center here in the KCMO. They have received some mis-run American Deluxe Tele's before, they were a Honey Blond finish w/ a Tortoise pickguard, (they were the newer Am Deluxe cause the had a S-1. It was a beautiful guitar, wish I could have gotten one. They sold out quick. Short Story turned long....MF says they do get mis-runs (odd color combos) and such from time to time.

Thanks Guys I am sorry for bugging you about this but it is makin me a bit nuts I went to a music store I know and looked at about 15 USA strats and none of the Hywy 1's had made in the USA on the headstock but the only one that had a blank neckplate was a Hywy 1.I checked out the site Blaze 2727 gave me and it said the strat was made at the Corona factory 02/03.

Hi Guys,
A guy I know who is pretty good with guitars said this strats pickups have staggered pole pieces and the saddle is formed steel instead of cast.
Don't know if that helps
