hey guys, im buying my first electric today and ive chosen a strato :D.
im looking at the fender stratocaster standard 09 MIM model, im very new to electrics and dont have much of an idea at what i really need (been playing acoustic the last year and have finally decided to give electric a go), im into alot of grunge, punk, metal and rock... the australian price for the MIM seems to be $900 everywhere and thats pretty much what im looking to spend. Any tips or comments would be great.

ps. i really want good feedback and distortion hehe :D guessin thats mainly the amp though

Mainly the amp, but a model with a humbucker in the bridge might get you closer to that sound.

Try many standard MIMs as posible. Everything I have seen and experienced in MIMs is the 70% are great, 10% exceptional (better than a lot of MIAs) and 20% are dogs lounch (the same feel and playability of 6ft skis).

Happy hunting and save for a great amp.
