I know the paint job isn't the most important thing to how a guitar plays and sounds. I usually go with body wood, neck wood, and pickups first, but holy smokes, the Sienna Sunburst on the Deluxe Players strat is the sexiest color I've seen yet.

Question:
What other strats come in that color? I've only ever heard bad things about the DPS, and have played a few myself and was not impressed. This particular color though, MUST be a part of my collection.

Answer?:

American standards are available in siena. What is it about the DPS that you don't like? I think the biggest complaint about them is the VN pups. I think the guitar is quite nice, has nice features, but I don't care for the pups.

That was my main complaint. The pickups were really weak. But that wood, paint, in combo with the gold hardware is rad.

I may end up with a DPS, with some '69's or something.

I droool for the look of it. I can fix the feel of it, but the sound of it needs the most help.

I think the siennaburst finish of the american standard is even better.

It is indeed nice.

I seem to be drawn to gold hardware of late.

I agree totally. The grain is nicer on the American Sienna, but also the white pickgard goes better.I know the DP has the 12" radius which some people might not like.I like it on my SRV.

I love my 07 siennaburst american standard strat, nice grain on wood and light in weight compared to others I've tried in music stores. If you think the output is to weak on the sienna you like, there's always an option to change the pickups, just keep the originals, incase you decide to convert back.

That seem to be the advice among guitar playing friends. Thanks bud.

what kind of music do you play because I have a deluxe player's and I play classic rock/blues rock and love the sound. Its not my main guitar and i don't think it could be. but it still is a really great guitar. Oh and i dont really like that 12" radius that much
