Hmmm...I, too, have wondered about that Strat .
It does have a large headstock ala Highway One and late 60's thru 70's.
But the finish is totally beyond me!
Rather a wierd greenish burst.....
I don't know! Got to be honest...not the most ATTRACTIVE Strat I've ever seen!

Thanks for the picture.

The bullet truss rod pegs it as a '70's reissue.

I don't know if that's a from-the-factory paint job ...

It's a true 70's hardtail- lots of wierd sunbursts on this era, some would even beg the question whether genuine or not.

here's a story- I was once working on what I thought was a '68 strat when I was doing a little work experience with a luthier. he had just done a fret job and he wanted me to put the guitar together and give it a good clean.

About to fix the pickguard on, I noticed that the underside was mother of pearl, and the outer white/black/white.

Can anyone shed light on this? I heard a rumour that they sometimes ran out of material and had to flip the pearl over to make the guards :)

also, I heard some used a little small amount of black and red paint dabbed on the end of a wide bristled brush then lightly painted with the grain to add a grain effect on the sunbursts- interesting concept... :?

I do not know this movie but someone posted the same question on another forum, I dont remember which one. But I believe someone answered the guitar was custom made for the movie.
