Ive seen alot of people do some work on their mexican strats, so i did so myself on mine. I have a 2008 mexican strat with a maple neck, black body, and white pickguard(Stock). Ive added black SCN pickups with black volume and tone knobs and s1 switching. So basically its has everything an american deluxe strat has even locking tuners with vintage bridge. I put in over 300 bucks in it and i just wanted some opinions on what is my guitars value. I would guess at least around $800. Guitars worth + parts ~ $800. Thanks

Usually modified guitars sell for a lot (and I mean a lot) less money than you put into them. I modify my Strats purely for my own enjoyment. That's why my $100 Squier has $200 pickups in it.

In general, modified guitars uasully will be de-valued verses stock guitars. You will not recoup the cost of these upgrades. You are better off saving the old parts, reinstall them back in the guitar before selling it and saving the mod parts for another project. With that out of the way, I would give no more than $350.00 for a really nice used mim strat. Not knocking your guitar, I love those MIM Strats 2006 and newer. Thats just the highest I would go for a used one.

Flacster you broke the #1 resale rule. Even if you put in parts that cost more than what you paid for it you killed the resale value if the mods you made are irreversible. Now I would imagine your ax plays and sounds great and if someone checked it out and wanted to buy it then you could come up with a price like that. But on the open market thats a no no. If it is your #1 player then do whatever you want to it. But if you are going to buy a guitar that you are not sure is going to spend years with you keep it stock or only change things that you can change back.

I have a 2008 MIM Strat. I have added Fender locking tuners, Swapped the stock pups for DiMarzio areas, and switched the pickguard and trem cover to aged pearl. Yeah, it cost me some $$ but, I didn't do it for resale. I did it to make it.....mine.

BTW....I would like to add the S1 switching some day as well.

I hate to pop your bubble but it's worth less then you paid for it. Take and put the MIM parts back on it you wolud get 200. then sell the parts and you may get 25% to 35% of your money back there. Moding a guitar does not increase value and I stay away from them like most others do.

In addition to all that's been said, a prospective buyer may come along and say that (s)he prefers everything OEM and does not like anything about the changes which have been done to the guitar. This postulation may or may not be true but the bottom line is, the potential sale price just took a nose dive.

Then there's an additional school of thought which, even if they find these modifications (note the word) attractive, will automatically be most dubious of the workmanship, especially if the owner says he or she did it him or herself. Even when I see or hear, "upgrade", I automatically form a predisposed, negative opinion.

Another thing too, the term, "upgrade" apparently is now used any time someone changes and/or modifies anything in or on their guitar from that which was OEM. Oftentimes, said 'upgrades' only applies to the owner's perception of these changes and/or modifications, where costs incurred and the universally accepted quality and desirability of same is completely irrelevant to the next person who in fact, might find it an outright, down grade. Remember, personalizing a guitar is for better or for worse, a subjective thing too.

As always, this is IMO, YMMV.

Well said Martian armature solder jobs can be really obvious along with matching electronic components to pickups, setup ect.ect.

I don't necessarily agree with that statement unless we're dealing with a vintage instrument or if the replaced parts are generally considered inferior or undesirable.

I completely agree with that. A guitar has to have pickups to function so just because you feel you put better pickups in your guitar (the OP) doesn't mean anyone buying it would feel the same way. For example, if I wanted to buy your guitar but I was going to change out the pickups anyway, the value you perceive in the replacement pickups would be meaningless to me as the buyer. Also, consider that the pickups you installed are now considered used so any value they might add to someone would still be less than you paid for them.

American Deluxe Strats don't have vintage bridges.

Even if you changed every piece of hardware on your guitar to exactly what comes on an American Deluxe Strat, it will never be perceived as anything but an MIM Strat with mods. The neck and the body are still not the same as an American Deluxe Strat.

For a guitar like that I'd prefer unmodified and would pay less for mods. Sorry! :(
