Yeah the Heavy blues still has plenty of twang, it just doesn't hurt your hears :)

I'm thinking of replacing the SCN's on my Dlx with a loaded PG I already bought sometime ago fitted with the DiMarzios area 58-61-67, but I'm a bit hesitant to replace the stock pups, does anybody have experience with those pups ? comparisons with the SCNs?

I do, plenty of experience with them. I have this combo in one of my Strats: I use a 67 in the neck position, a 58 in the middle position and a 61 in the bridge position. I personally think this is the best stacked combo known to man. They wipe the floor with SCNs and frankly, the SCNs aren't even worth mentioning at all compared to these DiMarzios. They simply are NOT in the same league. YMMV.

I have been wanting to build a 67-58-61 with master tone pot and a blender pot for a while, this post just ups my motivation

I've been comparing numbers on the various Dimarzio hum-cancelling single coils and I'm leaning towards a Vintage Heavy Blues in the bridge and Area 61s in the neck I middle. I'd like a tone with a bit more beef and balls but not over the top and this seems like the set that would fit the bill.

If anyone is interested, I plugged the data for some Dimarzio single coils into a spreadsheet for easy comparison.

To up your motivation all the more, the master tone pot and blender pot are how they are wired in my Strat!
