Maybe you can straighten out something for me. Did JB ever use scalloped necks on his Strats? For some reason I have it in my head that I saw that somewhere, but haven't seen those necks mentioned unless it was a Malmsteen or Blackmore guitar. Am I mixing Beck up with others? Also, have JB Strats been in continuous production since introduction, or have there been several models? Thanks!

There have been two beck signature Strats. The first incarnation had lace sensor pickups, locking tuners and a baseball bat of a neck. The second which I have has hot noisless pickups,locking tuners,,2 point trem, and a nice chunkie neck but nowhere near what the first had. It is my favorite Strat. No they never had scalloped necks.

The JBs never had scalloped necks. I have played several production models of that sig and all of them were great guitars. Maybe the best sig in the current Fender line up.

Thanks! Don't know where I got that thought from. I love his playing, and that is probably the only sig Strat I'd consider buying. I'm glad the baseball bat necks are gone - my hand size wouldn't fit around that. Hmm, a nice white Strat with a rosewood neck would look good in the music room....
