The one you like better is the one that is better. It's totally a matter of personal opinion.

Neither is "better" for every person and every style. If there was one clearly "better" one, they other would never even go to production.

Personal preference on feel, looks and a subtle affect on tone.

as the others have said its all preference. There really aren't in advantages/disadvantages with going with either. Some will say Maple will be brighter and rosewood will be darker sounding, but really and truly that can be fixed with Eq on your amp or tone controls. Honestly I own both. A Few my strats are rosewood, a few are maple.

One is gonna feel/sound/play better. The other won't.

Between maple and rosewood, I prefer maple, but I prefer ebony over maple.

It's a personal thing. I, myself, prefer Rosewood.

Maple necks are finished, therefore the part of your finger touching the wood behind the string may experience less resistance because the surface is more "slick" when bending than that of a rosewood fretboard (which is not finished). Then again some people like the feel of the extremely mild resistance you MiGHT notice when playing on a rosewood.
Also some people like the look of rosewood as it ages with heavy use compared to maple fretboards (which might become more "dingy" looking as the finish wears, but that takes a LoNG time and a lot of playing).
Rosewood is warmer sounding (meaning less bright) than maple, then again there are many ways to get the sonic effect of a brighter tone other than the wood used on an electric guitar. Most of my guitars are rosewood fretboards. I have a strat with an ebony fretboard which is really cool, it is very slick and bright sounding like maple, its like bending on ice.
That's my 2 cents... Cheers...

Just decide what you like best as far as looks and feel. Rosewood is more porous than Maple, so there is a noticable difference in the way they feel. Sometimes a body color looks good with Maple, and some body colors look better with Rosewood. Personal preference rules.

Just choose whatever one looks and feels best to you. Over time your opinion on which you prefer will evolve. So you have a 50-50 chance of being right. And - if you are wrong - the difference is not that pronounced.

But, for me, I prefer ebony and rosewood.

Rosewood has a "darker" tone and doesn't show wear and grime like a maple neck. There is also neck profiles. C Shaped, V Shaped, even U shaped. Radius vary, 7.5, 9.5, 10.5, 12 inch... Fret sizes medium, medium-jumbo, jumbo. Its not that easy. 50's necks are fatter soft V profiles. 60's necks are C-shaped. 70's style has the big headstock... Best way to figure it all out is go with what looks great to you and how it feels when you play it...
