Hi all,

I have Fender Stratocaster® Standard MEX guitar. I can use Bridge Sections American Series Strat® 0990840000 for my guitar? Or I must buy Bridge Assemblies ?

I'm from Czech republic. Sorry for my English.

Best regards

Mirek

Do you have a guitar store/repair shop near you? Have you tried asking the Technician there? Sometimes they carry parts in the backroom...

There are better things you could change about your guitar, but yes it is a good inexpensive modification. It's something I would do. But also keep in mind that there are other companies that make Bridge Sections/Saddles.

ie. I hear good things about Graphtech but I would keep my guitar within the Fender line of products. just my opinion.

Sorry, I don't mean to make things more confusing.

Good Luck

Thank you very much.
Last question. Do you have 200 USD. You can change
a) pickups
b) tremolo
c) tuner
d) nuts

Your choice ?

im not even an expert in this, but will give it a shot.

1. mim saddles and am std saddles have different string spacings, probably not by alot.

2. i dont know if the offset of the screws on the am saddles will affect it.
but if not mistaken, you want to install a mia bridge assembly into a mim.

3. kinda continouation of 2. mim have 6 screws that go into the body,
mia have 2.

if im wrong, plz correct me.

You CAN NOT use that bridge part on a mexican Fender guitar.

The screws which attatch the saddle to the bridge are set off to one side of the saddle. Mexican guitars need the screw to be in the center of the saddle.

Its quite likely you cannot use a American Standard or American Deluxe tremolo bridge on your guitar without doing some woodwork.

Mexico Fender tremolo bridges are very good. I prefer them to american standard or american deluxe bridges. Those saddles dont do the sound any good at all. They are quite dull and lifeless. I think vintage style saddles are far better. So much so I'm planning on buying some with offset screws for my customshop guitar

If you mean to ask me what I would do with $200, I would do the Pickups.
I would probably go with Fender Custom Shop '69 Pickups.

That would use all of the money though, plus having them installed. lol

But you mentioned you were a beginner, as a beginner I wouldn't do anything that I didn't need.

No biggie Rob. I made the mistake myself and bought some of those saddles for my mim, once long ago.
