What a contrast! Here's a picture taken from my front yard:

That mountain has been seen in many movies over the years. There is a movie set that looks like the old west right in the neighborhood.

The picture you posted looks like a genuine Stratocaster Standard which is made in Mexico. If you have detailed pictures of it that would help but from the picture you posted I have no reason to suspect that it is not a genuine Fender. Those MIM (made in Mexico) Fenders are wonderful guitars and a real bargain.

This is a fine guitar sir.

I like black guitars.

I enjoyed your video of your playing. That is a very nice acoustic guitar in that video.

Hi mate, my names Blair- nice to meet you. Im from Auckland, New Zealand.

Now I really don't like doing this, but I must point out a few things about your strat:

The 12th fret markers are crooked from what I can see- are my eyes decieving me?

if this is a MIM, this guitar has 22 frets.

The shape of the fingerboard at the 22nd fret seems too square

the colour of the logo from what I see is gold. Old logos were silver.

Once again, I dont like doing this but hey- thats a nice strat regardless of where or how it was made.

Welcome to the forums :)

Blair made some good observations in his post but it's hard to tell without seeing it in person. There certainly are Fender guitars made in Mexico and they are nice instruments. Either way, the only thing to do is play it and enjoy it.
