I remember reading somewhere about noise from only the 1, 3, and 5 positions on the swith. The 2 and 4 positions are o.k. Don't remember what the fix was, any suggestions? I have a Amer. Deluxe Fender strat with the S-1 switch.
Thanks

Yep , welcome to the world of single coils.Just remember, once upon a time there was buzz in every position.Heck , there was only position 1,2 and 3.All buzz, all the time.Seriously though , noiseless works and some people have had some success with shielding tape, but it will still buzz.My 2 cents is dont worry about it and eventually you wont hear it.

That's one solution but what if I already have noiseless pickups? My American Deluxe Ash strat already comes equiped with The S-1™ switching system and three Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups.

If you,ve got an American Deluxe, it should have SCN's or if an earlier model, noiseless pickups of some kind. Does'nt make sense. What year is it?...... 8) Mike

It's a 2005, funny thing is it doesn't do it with my trri, only with my pignose g40v. I'm gonna try different cables, a different outlet and a few other things.

You don't say what KIND of noise. How much gain are you running? How many pedals simultaneously? Even with humbuckers if you're running a TON of gain and a boatload of FX there will be some noise.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You should have very little noise from those SCNs. Something else is causing this. Maybe relocate your rig and/or play standing and walk around and turn to see if it will dissapear. Also as you allready suggested try cables and switch off all the effects or plugin directly to your amp.

mmm...and that G40V is now a discontinued item. Maybe the amp is the problem?

Alot of good suggestions, thanks for the info. It may be a combination of the pignose amp and the environment because it doesnt happen all the time and the pignose is prone to picking up alot of noise. I am working on redoing the electrical correctly at our rehearsal studio (garage  ) to include a subpanel and proper grounding. I'm hoping this makes a significant difference, more than anything else.
As far as pedals, I have a couple of a/b switches for switching between amps and guitars, a Fulltone OCD, a dod fx distortion from the 80's, a boss chorus and a dunlop JH wah from the 80's.
