Look at this link. I am confused a good bit. It says 57/63 original and in the description says "half a century old", etc. But it is a Squier, at least the neck is. Is it the body is an original vintage Fender but someone had put a squier neck on it? What is the deal??? Struck me as odd when I looked at the auction. here's the link:

I had a boss over 35 years ago who used to say all the time, "People love to get ripped off." This still proves his point right up to this day.

I went ahead and reported it. I think that this might be a time when the seller might have been mis informed about what this guitar is. Seller has good feedback rating, so maybe not his/her fault. I reported it in hopes of keeping someone from getting majorly ripped off. Maybe I should notify the seller about this item? What do you good folks say?

Nonsense. Having a good score means nothing except he hasnt been found out for ripping people off.

You can tell by the wording of the sale that he knows full well what it is but is misrepresenting it as a 57.

I contacted the seller to ask him/her to please research this guitar further, and told them they had been mislead as to what this guitar is. Maybe something will happen to stop the sale of this item for a high end price.

If that is the case then maybe the seller might realize that this time someone is onto them. I know that it is a free market but I hate seeing people mislead that might not know enough about what they are buying to realize that it is a scheme / ripoff. Maybe the report will go through to ebay that I sent.

Well anyone with a brain the size of a mouse would know it is not vintage. I do not believe the guy had a clue to what he was selling. He must of gotten someones message as he listed on the bottom that he was informed it was more than likely an 80s reissue of a 57. The guitar sold for $550, maybe on the strength of the player he said owned it which I believe was probably true and maybe that accounted for so many bids. Then again Willie Nelson plays some really ripped up axes so I guess guys in his band follow suite.lol

Not too difficult for a conman to put a load of crap on eBay and ask his crooked mates to bid... not that I'd make such an accusation of course.
