I want to build up a pickguard and board for my MIA. I am considering Lace sensors. they have so many differend single style pickups, hot gold, gold, emerald red blue etc.

Anyone using these? How do you like them and what do you suggest?

Thanks,

Lots of thoughts there. After reading it I think I will stick with traditional fender single coils.

My new 09 MIA cannot hold a candle to my 07 MIM. Both have stock pickups.

Of course the MIM is heavier body. The MIA has a more mild jazzy smooth tone. The MIM sharpe clear and edgy.

I thought I would build a board to see if it made any difference in the MIA.

Have used them for over 10 yrs in various combinations. They're not for everyone though. You need to have a medium to harder attack in your style to get the best tone out of them. If you have a real light touch, they tend to sound thing and lifeless.

My current main guitar has a JB Jr in the bridge, Silver in the middle and a Blue on the neck. Perfect combination for me for pretty much every style.
