Anyone good at wiring a coil tap switch?

I've only had single coil strats so not sure how to do this and can't find a diagram that has the right stuff.

I bought a old Hamer guitar that has a HSS config with 1 volume and 1 tone knob and it orginally had a coil tap switch that the guy took out, so there was just a hole for it. So I'm trying to hook it back up but not sure how?

I bought a mini toggle switch that has 6 connectors on the bottom, so just want to know how to wire the humbucker to split it from humbucker to single coil?

And I'm not sure what kind of humbucker is in it so not sure of the wiring colors. From what I can tell it has a black and white for the ground, a bare ground wire, and then a red and green wire, and I think the green is for the front humbucker and red for the back.

Anyone good at wiring and can explain how to hook up the toogle switch?

Thanks

Thank you!

Jason,

If you can, post a few pictures of the HB AND it's cable. Hopefully, we can figure out what brand that pickup is and can supply the correct wiring code. Otherwise, you'll be, "hunting and pecking" with those lead wires to where you may or may not ever get it right.

FYI: The phrase, "coil tap" is GROSSLY misused. Most HBs do not have coil 'tap' capabilities. In your case, the HB coils can be 'shunted', not 'tapped'. The difference is (simplified), to 'tap' a coil, there would have to be an extra positive lead wires coming out of that one coil but not at the beginning or end of it. So, the coil itself had to be 'tapped' into somewhere. What this does is it now allows the coil to be used at partial strength. To 'shunt' on the other hand, means that two coils can be (re)wired in different configurations between them to achieve different sounds.
