Ok Chet what am I missing here mate? It looks like its pretty center between the 2 pickups but maybe a bit low down. Am I getting warmer?

Yes, If you look at other Strat pickguards that screw is closer to the middle pickup.

That is true, this body has that pickguard screw in the same position as the robert cray model body. From what I was told was that it is a robert cray body, but I wanted to see what you experts had to say about it. I sent fender an email with the info, hopefully they will be able to confirm it. And if it's not authentic, then its still one hell of a body that I plan on using for a few decades of playing :D

IN CONCLUSION:

The body was verified by the Fender rep as an authentic made in mexico hardtail strat, robert cray model.
