Hi folks,
I'm really curious about the neck profile on this but can't find one anywhere near here that has one to try out. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a more commonly found guitar that has s similar profile?
Thanks in advance.

a standard strat MIM and MIA should be close to what your looking for.

No, the standard Strat neck is not even close to the HotRod '62 baseball bat!
it's a nice fat, comfortable playing neck and great sounding guitar!

sorry, I don't know what other Strat you could try to get a feel for the neck, maybe an early Jeff Beck model, those are supposed to be pretty beefy.
Mr.Bill might be able to point you in the right direction, I know he has a HR 62

I think you will need to find something with a "C" shaped neck and 7.25 radius. Look in the products section and go into the specs to see if anything else is close. I know some of the Artist Series guitars have that neck.

the KWS strat has the thick c shape neck, but with a 12" radius, versus the HRs 9.5"

I'm thinking that the 60's classic player might be close.

Thanks guys.
I'm thinking maybe the Mayer might be close. Specs say "thick c shape", same as the HR62. Anyone here maybe have or tried both? I can't seem to find a Mayer around here either

In my experience, the JM and the '62 HR necks are not similar.
The '62 HR has a MUCH thicker neck than the JM. In fact, I didn't really appreciate any "thickness" to the JM neck, meaning that when I played it I never found myself thinking "wow, this is a thick neck" which is what i found with the '62 HR.

I played both recently, and I must agree. The J. Mayer is comfortably, slightly thicker, like the 62 reissue. The Hot Rod 62 though is really thick (a bit to thick for me)

Hello Pmarak,

Fender customer service suggests that the Kenny Wayne Sheppherd
has a similar neck but with a 12radius fretboard. I haven't found a
KWS to test drive, I'm looking forward to seeing the similarities.

Try a SRV and the '62 is a wee bit plumper.

Cheers.

The KWS also has a thick neck that is similar (except the radius is 12 and ont 9). I tried one tonight and REALLY liked the shape but wasn't a huge fan of the urethane finish. Graphtech saddles are a nice touch though.
And while I don't know why, the KWS didn't feel as "tight" or put together as some other fenders I've tried. Perhaps it was because it wasn't set up well. In any case, It was a very nice guitar.
