I've been looking at this guitar and wondering what Robbie Robertson would think of it.

Why Robbie Robertson? I am a big fan of his (the Last Waltz is one of my all-time favorites), but not an expert about him. Why him?

Were you not in the mojo with us long time back about how his guitar is wired and how he prefers his pickups split, and whether or not Fender was going to do a signature guitar of his? It all rolled out of his appearance with EC in Chicago, with someone posting a kind of "what the hell is that?"
photo of him. He's got an SC at the neck and two side by side, at a slant, looking like an HB, at the bridge. Robbie doesn't like a center pickup. Has never had one. It messes up his picking style. On overall appearance, I think he would dig your guitar.

See if you can't search out some of the chat which went down on this. It was voluminous.

Ever since Fender slapped two Lace Red Duallys into a Stratocaster and dubbed it "The Big Apple" the concept has been moving right along towards what you've p;roduced. The generic line routing, by ME's own words just the other day, is HSH.

I don't think I've seen a cleaner strat. Even the tuners are polished! :D Thats how I roll as well. Cool idea with the HH setup. Looks really cool.

Do you like those pickup rings? I am thinking to go maybe without them.

IMHO the rings give this guitar a cleaner and more finished look. Consider going that route. 8)

Yeah, no real functional benefit ... they just look good (at least to me, too). Fender uses them on the Dave Murray Strat, and they look preety good.

Yeah, no real functional benefit.......

In comparison with installations sans the rings, I would think their presence might tend to keep the routings cleaner.

Yeah, okay. Good point. I did not think of that.
