Hello everyone, my name is Mike and I recently started playing again after a 15 year hiatus. I found what I thought was a smoking deal on a 50th Aniversary American Standard Strat and as I had ALWAYS wanted a "real American made Stratocaster" I bought it. It was built in Corona Calif. between 2003 and 2004 according to the serial number. I was looking at the Guitar Center website at their used guitars ( just to compare what they were asking for a 50th aniversary model!) When imagine my surprise to see "60th" aniversary strats being listed. If 2004 was the 50th aniversary year, wouldn't that make the 2014 the 60th aniversary? If any one can enlighten me on this I would sure appreciate it!

I think it's the 50th anniversary of the strat and the 60th anniversary of Fender.

My 2004 USA Strat is a 50th Anniversary of the Stratocaster guitar. I think there was a 60th Anniversary of the Fender company around the same time.

Congratulations on your new purchase by the way, they are fantastic guitars :D

Thanks for the info. I thought that might have been the case. Thanks 92Fender, I'm really happy with it so far, need to take it in for a little set-up work but it plays pretty decently. Now if I can only get my chops up on par with such a fine instrument! :D

Yep. My 2006 American Deluxe is a 60th anniversary model that commemorates FMIC's 60 years in business.

I think all the American Strats manufactured in 2004 had the 50th anniv. plate on the back. As I recall there was also a limited run 50th anniv. American Strat with Fat 50's pickups in Sunburst. I think that one came with a tweed case.
