At first I was confused when the box arrived, then opened it up and just had to laugh

Exactly. Therein lay the irony of my post.

Irony is the cheerfulness of thinking and the joy of wisdom.

 Haha - I really don't, actually. When I Googled that cartoon I though, well he's got that wrong, but it's mildly amusing anyway.

BTW: Europeans often like to priggishly assure each other that Americans don't understand irony. Nonsense, obviously - but humans do like to think in stereotypes. Anyway, Orville proves them wrong...

It seems like a meanspirited test to me. You didn't see me making any mean comments when Niki said he used dental floss to wax his nut slots. (Like saying "I didn't think they had dental floss in the UK.")

Its quite obvious that north america doesnt understand irony or sarcasm much. Just look at the quality of the tv shows.

Whats the story on the LP?

I can't see, quite frankly, that the people of ANY country would be pleased to be judged by the quality of the TV shows they produce. It's not like there is some Mecca of a country that consistently puts out quality TV. (Odd..."quality" and "TV" in the same sentence?)

Sorry! Back to the thread then!

Orville, i haven't had time to do any more work on it, i still have to drill the holes to mount the TOM, and the stop tail piece. Then, I have to grain fill the mahogany, and decide which colour burst to do. I am leaning toward a darkburst a la Duane Allman's "Hot 'Lanta"

I picked up a copy of

to compare the different sunbursts, and try find the right one.

I was working too much, then i had the flu (seasonal, not H1N1.) Hoping to get a few projects rolling, in the next week or so. In fact a big part of starting most of the other stuff, was to get my painting hand in practice again, to tackle this burst.

I dunno Gridlock. I'm practicaly ecstatic about the quality of some british tv shows. From Hancocks half hour to Richard Attenborough, Blue Peter to One foot in the grave. Theres great entertainment to be had for peoples of all walks of life from the BBC.

Anyhow whats the story with the LP?
