Contoured body is a big + but I've got to sneak in playability too..... 8) Mike

The strat's neck pickup is my all time favorite guitar tone. I also love the neck shape and size.

apart from the awesome looks, it's not until you play a Tele or a Les Paul that you realise just how comfortable the Strat is to play. Don't get me wrong I love my Tele, but along with the Trem it's the thing I miss the most about my Strat.

Cheers.

+1

When I pick up a Les Paul, or even my Martin acoustic, I realize just how comfortable my Strat is to play. Also, you can make a Strat sound like just about any other guitar out there, and then there's always that killer Strat tone. Nothing else out there equals the clean, or mildly overdriven tone of a Strat. Ok, I'm gonna go play it right now!

There is something unique about the feel of the fingerboard that sets it apart from everything else I own. When I play a Strat I feel like I am a better player somehow. Just feels right under the fingers.

ONE feature!!!???!!! Oh man...

Just to get the ball rolling: body shape. Those cutouts and contours make it feel different than anything that came before and most of what came after.

Please leave some ideas/suggestions for the others.

I'm trying to see if the majority is what I think it is :)

BTW Mike, you have to come clean at some point and tell us what you think it is...

The best feature of the Stratocaster is the countoured body. It just fits like a glove when playing.

For me it`s the all over design, body, headstock, bridge, etc. Everything is in the right proportion and in balance with eachother.

It is quite simply the most beautiful electric guitar ever made. The eye-pleasing S-curves (called cyma curves) were used heavily by British and American furniture makers in the 1700s. You see these curves on the headstock, the body, and on the pickguard. The headstock recalls the ball and claw feet of a classic bonnet-top highboy chest of drawers. The overall effect is visually stunning. No other guitar compares.
