Anyone see this on current GC flyer?

LIMITED EDITION 1959 STRATOCASTER® –
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF ONE OF THE
MOST COLLECTIBLE STRATS® EVER

Fender® and Guitar Center are offering a limited run of only 59 limited edition reissues.

• Ash body with special ’59 Chocolate
Sunburst nitrocellulose finish
• Maple neck with 9.5” radius rosewood
fretboard, medium jumbo frets
• Fender® Custom Shop
Fat 50s pickups, 5-way
switch and tone control
for bridge pickup
• Vintage-style
Stratocaster tremolo
• Limited run of only 59 guitars

They've got them priced at $1799.

Fender® ’59 Strat® (017 0096 850)
1959 was an important year in Stratocaster® history. It was the first time Fender® produced a Strat® with a rosewood fretboard, giving the iconic instrument a somewhat warmer, deeper tone than the previous maple-board models. Now, 50
years later, the Fender® Custom Shop has marked the anniversary with a limited run of 59 stunning vintage recreations, available only at Guitar Center.

Hmmm...The Thin Skin series have a product code of 017.
So, it's very similar to the 59 Thin Skin Strat but with CS Fat 50s instead of CS 50s ?

Wildwood has the '59's that we are talking about. The Wildwood 10 series...awesome masterbuilt guitars there.

Those go for $5k and up. The GC model is $1799.

Wildwood gets a lot of special runs from fender. Some very high end stuff many of them.

Is this guitar made in the USA? Since this is NOT a Custom Shop guitar are the pickups "Custom Shop Fat '50s" as advertised, or are they "regular" pickups?

So far I think it is only in the latest GC guitar catalog. It is not on their website.

Check Wildwood Guitar site. They may have one to look at but it's probably the more costly one.
