Hi all, new guy here first post. Forum looks awesome, I'm seeing lots of good info floating around here, I'm glad I signed up.

Ok, I got a '56 custom shop relic (made in 2000) and it came with non- locking tuners

I have vintage style locking tuners on my vintage american '62 reissue and I'd like to get the same for the '56

Anyone know where? I'm guessing they are made by Kluson though I'm not sure

Thanks for the help

Eric

Thanks, wasn't being impatient, I figured after a day that no one was sure that's all, wouldn't be a big deal happens all the time

I know about the Gotoh's , looking for what Fender is using they have no name on them

The Gotohs are a good option though as long as they are drop in.

Thanks again

NP, I was just being sarcastic.

I'm pretty darn sure thats exactly what is on your Fender. (Maybe not with adjustable posts)

My Classic 50's Player came with (at least this is what the spec says) "Fender®/Gotoh® Vintage Style Locking Tuning Machines"

Mine look exactly like the ones in the link but without the HAP printed on the back.

Yep, that could very well be right (though I don't know catagorically).

Be aware that Gotoh make many different vintage style tuners, some with writing stamped on the back, some without. There's a whole lot of small variations available: poles with slots or holes; locking or non-locking; staggered and non-staggered; all sorts of minor variations on casing embellishment.

There are fewer hardware makers out there than some people think. Sometimes apparently different tuners come from the same factory. Gotoh (Hosco) are behind a lot of stuff - though till not so long ago many of us were only aware of them as a brand of budget hardware. They also make some of the finest stuff you can get.

Whether or not that is what's on the '62RI Gotohs are a good way to go.

Cheers - C
