OK, let's see if that works:

Wow, ok that worked for Photobucket. Now let's see about Picassa:

OK, that worked too. I can do it now. Thanks everyone.

OK, so after all of that, here's the strat in case you didn't want to hit the link:

I hope I don't become too much of a bandwidth pest now that I know how to do this.

You post away mate, we love looking at guitars round here and actively encourage new users to join in.

I reckon you could do with another humbucker on that black strat. Maybe change that singlecoil out for another hotrails type.

Hi seriousjamming: there's some misunderstandings about that which folks occasionally labor under. They worry about using up Fender's bandwidth - but of course these photos are not lodged on Fender's server. It's between all our own servers and that of Photobucket (etc).

And anyone who really doesn't want their own system filled with these pics can tell their browser not to download them. It makes Fender's pages look rather odd, but eveyone has the power to conserve their own bandwidth if they choose.

So post away freely!

We want to gaze in wonder at all those pickups...

Cheers - C

PS And thanks to Russianracehorse for the tip...

Happy to help!

Next lesson: Linking to another page without showing the actual URL. For example, what looks nicer?

http://www.fender.com/products/search.php

or

Fender Products Page

To get the second version, type the text you want to display (here, Fender Products Page). Highlight the text, and click on the URL button above.

When it places the code in your post, add an equal sign (=) and the target URL immediately following the letters url in the code.

Example: [url=http://www.fender... (truncated to show the code)

Give it a try! 8)

P.S. You can do this with images too! Just place the URL tags outside the IMG tags.

P.P.S. I'm also a big proponent of trying the Preview button before posting for real. This lets you make sure the post will appear as intended.

Yeah - I make extensive use of the preview button. And yet no matter how hard I edit it the moment it goes "live" I spot 15 dumbo spelling mistakes.

And if I ever read the post again later I spot a dozen more...

D'oh!
