I have a fender deluxe players strat, with gold bridge assembly, but i cant tune my guitar properly because the saddle or either the screw is stripped.

Can anyone find just one with the screw and spring, or would i have to buy a who new saddle assembly, and where can I find one the cheapest?

THanks

Try This. Not sure if it's the cheapest, but it will be the real deal.

Welcome.

The DP Strat has a Reliance branded, American spaced Vintage Tremolo. See link:

http://angela.com/fendervintagereliance ... ridge.aspx

Avoid saddles and piece parts for 'standard' MIM tremolos as they are NOT the same size. Of course, Squier stuff is of no help to you either.

Aside from the entire above gold assembly as shown in the link, to the best of my knowledge, Fender only packages and sells nickel colored replacement American vintage type saddles kitted as a set of 6 only. And then, there's the whole aftermarket thing which I would presume you'd rather not have to get into.

I surmise you are talking about a height adjustment screw in your saddle and not the intonation screw. Having said this, verify whether the allen head in the screw is actually stripped and/or the saddle thread is actually stripped. The reason I say this is because MOST established guitar techs will have a drawer full of these but there are two considerations: If it is only a stripped allen head of the screw, a direct replacement is called for. On the other hand, if the saddle's thread is stripped, your easiest way out is to go to the next larger sized saddle screw which MOST established guitar techs will also have a drawer full of too.

If I were you, I'd dismantle that saddle and bring it along with me to visit said established tech. Now, depending on the tech, (s)he oftentimes will examine the saddle, thread the appropriate replacement screw into the saddle, hand screw and saddle back to you and say, "Have a nice day". Others can be a bit 'hard-nosed' in the sense that they might not sell parts separately to do-it-yourselfers, declaring that you would have to leave the guitar for their evaluation and repair. Other too, may simply want some money for the screw. It's kind of the luck of the draw.

its the black screw with the spring, not the little allen screws for the string height

That's the intonation screw. My same advice about visiting an established tech applies.
