Hello there is someone who have try this string on intìstead of standard .010-0.46 set on Stratocaster , or better oc Strat Classic Player '50 ?
Do you like it ?
Do you make some modification of guitar setting ( action of string, pickups, neck , bridge, ec..) or no ?
This set is no standard .010:
standard .010 : (.010, .013, .017, .026, .036, .046)

GHS Gilmour : .010 .012 .016 .028 .038 .048 ( for Start )

Note high string more thin and bass string more think than standard.
The difference is little , but enough to do modify guitar setting ?
Bye
Guido

Of course, I have them on my Gilmour. I expect David chose this mix to give him a bit more clout in the lower registers which he uses freely. I'm considering putting them on my Deluxe VG in that the guitar has a Baritone voicing as one of its modeling presets.

You'll want to make sure that the nut is cut properly to carry the heavier gauge 4,5,6, particularly if you have a trem block. The guitar should be set up again.

I'm running a set on my deluxe player strat and I like them. As mentioned earlier, more guts in the lower registers. Naturally, I had to reset the trem, intonation, etc... it was not necessary to tweak the nut - at least on this particular guitar.

I use GHS 9-42 boomers on everthing else. They seem to last much longer and have more output.

ok thank you guys.
Actually I use a DR pure blues blu set standard .010-.046 and I like it.
I'm consider to change strings with this set than my actual strings are spoil by use.
Bye
Guido

I guess from that set the tension across the fretboard (E-E) is more balanced.

the highest tension (B string) is reduced and the lower tension strings (E&A) are increased. The ernie ball slinkytop heavy bottom sets (.010-.052) are a really nicely balanced set. If you like these GHS ones please give the ernies a go.

I also use them on my Gilmour, but have restrung a couple more of my strats with them with no need to alter my setup.

By the way - the Gilmour GHS for the Les Paul also sound outstanding.
