Hi to everyone.
I have just bought a nice Fender Stratocaster, which I love, but... my problem is that I don't know exactly wich model of Stratocaster is it. I give you some clues:
The serial number is Z7067483 (so, I think it was made in 2007 and it's not an "American Deluxe" because those are numbered with "DZ" and not "Z").
The pìckup configuration is HSS. The single coil pickups are noiseless (but I'm not sure if they are the famous samarium cobalt or not).
It's got 22 frets.
It's got the S-1 system.
Colour: sunburst, with white pickguard.
Basically it looks like an American Deluxe HSS but it hasn't got neither the roller nut nor the locking tuning machines.
The guy in the guitar shop told me that it was a Deluxe PLayer, but those have 21 frets and mine has 22!
It came with a card hanging on the tuner machines with the title "American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster" but it was wrong because those have 3 single coil pickups and mine is an HSS model.
Anyone can tell me which is excatly my model?

Thats a deluxe with a serial mistake or a HSS american standard. Not a deluxe player. The guy in the shop was misinformed. The HSS standard strat doesnt use SCN pickups either so that looks likely.

If you paid deluxeplayer money for it, then avoid using that shop again at all costs. They may want to take it back.

Thanks! But mmmmm... ¿Does Fender make American Deluxe HSS Strats without the roller nut and the locking tuning machines? All the photos and specifications I have seen have those things...

No they dont have a rollernut the Jeff Beck is the only guitar they make with a roller nut. Perhaps you are mistaking that for rolled fingerboard edges?. The specs are in the products section if you look. Check the HSS American standard too. It will show you that your guitar matches that one perfectly. Its easy to tell if you have scn's in the guitar. They dont hum and have scn shaped into the non-removable pickup cover.

I don't see "SCN" on the pickups but they are noiseless. I have tried an American Standard Strat at the same shop and the humming was evident. This is not the case with my guitar. Not hum at all.
The trem arm is probably from another guitar, because they gave me a different case which I liked better, ant the trem arm was inside the case.

Yes it is screwed. I think American Deluxe's is not.

But another thing that doesn't match the American Standard is the S-1 switch..

The S1 switch is on the American Standard HSS strat. With its screw in trem arm and Z prefix serial number. You definately have a American Standard HSS Strat. I'm absolutely certain of it. It has identical spec's.

According to the specifications on Fender's web today's American standard HSS don't have the S-1 anymore , but maybe in 2007 they did.
My only doubt is about the noiseless single coil pickups...
Anyway, thanl you very much for your help.

it is american standard hss
noisless pickups (samarium, vintage , and hot)
all say "noiseless" and have pickup covers that
are not removeable
your guitar may have better shielding or grounding than the
other one but that does not make it noisless i have
a tele that with am std pups and you have to really crank it up
to hear the mysterious "60 cycle hum " which i think is way
overhyped and mostly applied to older guitars
and older amps IMO

You need to look at this switching diagram. American Stratocaster is clearly written on the top of the page. Its the switching options for the American Standard HSS

it looks to be a Std.....if its a 2007 it might be a used guitar and the owner before hand could of changed out the pickups....as far as roller nut goes....not all Deluxe have them in fact most dont.....but as far as i know they all have the locking tuners,,,and the trem arm would be a pop in...not screw
