That IS a shame. He's a really talented and nice guy. A poster was pretty rude and insulting to him. on the a laptop recording thread. I get the same thing sometimes. I've almost bailed a couple of times. That boles guy really pissed me off. In the 65 Princeton or Blues jr thread he bought an Egnater that came through with a bad grill cloth on the cabinet then he accused me of working for them among other things. What an A hole. I took a lot of my time answering his stupid redundant questions and he pissed in my shoes. He was too lazy to send it back and threw away the shipping boxes right away. I bought mine 3 months ago and still have the boxes in my attic. I'm glad I can still converse with SlapChop.

I think about SlapChop every time I plug into my Egnater.

I enjoy the forum, but sometimes it gets to you. I think Thouston left too. Tony was a cool guy with a lot to offer young blues players.

Sometimes the wrong people leave.

Thouston made one quick post yesterday and that was it. I like Tony too and hope he does not leave. Just let it roll off your back like a duck. Nothing to take to seriously. Like they say, it's only opinions on a guitar forum. :) I enjoy everyone here!

+1

Usually, I'll just ignore some, but other tend to be know-it-alls when they ain't, nobody really is, but people should remember that what you put out into cyberspace is a lifetime record that can't be changed and could come back to bite ya in the $@! someday.

You know , we dont always agree with one another, but the insults just shows how childish people can be.I actually learned alot from some of the people that I disagreed with, but when things become personal , it just isnt worth it.To be honest, slapchop and supro caused me to reassess some of my amps and I am thankful for that .Since I switched to a bassman to gig with , my tone is so much better.I wish the moderators would be more proactive in dealing with the personal insults.Maybe start warning and then tossing some of them.

Dunno about anyone else but I come here to learn. Consequently my attitude has always been to try whatever is within my means. No matter who posts the idea or how they voice their opinion. Sure some people have the social skills of a baboon that doesnt invalidate their experiences though.
You can learn off anyone and really thats why the majority of us are here. I'm certainly a lot mentally richer for this place. True intellegence is to accept knowledge from any quarter.

I'll miss old Slappy he could be a tad sharp at times though. Guess it was all pre-emptive strike mentality seeing as though he's left after a bit of a row. Guess things got to him more than he let on. Certainly a shame, he had a good deal of knowledge to impart. Remember his compressor explanaition? That was a sheer genius way of explaining a compressors workings to the layman.

The thing is, I'll insult a piece of equipment, but I won't insult another human being. Except for the A Hole remark, but hey, there's a first time for everything. It's usually the way I live my life. Equipment is just stuff. A HRDlx has no feelings. I can deal with any sort of opinion.

"Attitude" has no place here. I've re-read that thread several times. There was nothing in the post he responded to which called for the construct of his writing. A tactfully worded correction would been in order. Nothing beyond that. His value as a teacher is diminished by his inability to respond appropriately.

Ive read a few threads where people get heated, it tends to be a pattern with certain people on this forum. I disagree with some peoples views I must admit- but personal insults arent called for.

Some members of our tend to over analyse stuff, and get heated when their views are questioned. Of course, their own words get them. Like the saying- 'Sometimes when you bring the thunder, you get caught in the rain'

I guess though- a true measure of one's self is how easily you can bounce back after scuffle and forgive. :)

I will vow to never befriend anyone who gets caught in any such argument, whether or not I'm involved. After all, we are all mates and I will never meet such awesome people in any forum who share a passion that other people just dont get  I'm sure we can all agree to that. I think it would be cool if I could get to know some of you on a more personal level as I think there are awesome friends to be made :)
