This is a Fender Stratocaster 1995 or 1996. It has (3) Fender-Lace pickups, in Gold Print. The switch feels like it has 5 positions. Im guessing the color may be either Lake Placid or Ocean Blue. The guitar came in a lined, hard carrying case with a chrome colored plate on the front that reads, "Fender Plus" The neck is maple and the guitar is in perfect shape, no dings or dents. It appears that it was rarely used. I recently picked it up at a sale and Im trying to get as much information about this guitar as possible. I know the guitar was made in California but thats all. The serial # on the back is N517133. The top front of the neck reads, "Fender Stratocaster"; "Made in the U.S.A."

Any information on the type, quality etc., of my Stratocaster and what is value would be helpful. Unfortunately I've never played and I'm selling this to help put my daughter through nursing school.

Any places you might recommend for selling the Guitar?

Thanks For Taking a Peek

Looks like you have a Strat Plus, they go for about $700-$800 on Ebay.

Yep, this is definitely a Strat Plus. I also have a black one with N92.... serial number but the neck and the body had October 1989 date stamp. Distinctive features were the Fender Gold Lace Sensors, Wilkinson Nut, Fender Delux Bridge. For more info:

No, doesn't look like Lake Placid to me. And It's not Midnight Blue, because I have one in that color.

I seen one the other day in this color, but not sure what the color is called. Let me have a look at the color chart.

Hi gkosmala,
According to what I can see, your guitar is a FENDER STRAT PLUS MN ELB W/C ( thats Electric Blue I'm pretty sure) Model number 0107502887- Completed 5/3/1995 and sold to Dick johnson Music (not around anymore) on 5/15/1995.
Hope that helps a bit.
Best regards,
rob

You might wanna rethink the wisdom of posting your guitar's serial number on the internet. Unscrupulous people abound on the internet. Serial numbers can be used for several illegal purposes the most common of which is insurance fraud. I would have PM'd you about that but apparently that function is not available on this board.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Greetings,

Last Nov. 2, 2009 poster Rob Schwartz responded to a question of mine regarding my 1995 Fender Stratocaster Plus. He stated in part the following: “…to what I can see, your guitar is a FENDER STRAT PLUS MN ELB W/C ( thats Electric Blue I'm pretty sure)” My question is this, What does the following abbreviation's mean: MN, ELB, and W/C ?

Best Regards
Greg

Hi Greg,
My bad, sorry!! I'm so used to the abbreviations, i forget others may not be familiar with them.
Very simply MN=Maple Neck ELB= Electric Blue W/C= With Case
You'll also see RW used alot in guitar speak = Rosewood neck
...and honestly....sometimes the color abbreviations stump me!

Hope that helps!
Best regards,
rob

I believe the Ultra had different grades of Lace Sensor pickups...a pair of Reds in a humbucker configuration at the bridge, a Silver (early) or a Gold (later) in the middle and a Blue at the neck.
