List what your perfect Stratocaster design would be, body wood, neck, pick ups, color, etc. But......

NO SIGNATURE MODELS!

Figured it would be cool to see what variations people have. It might be one you own(owned), might be one you've played, or just specs for one you would love to have made for you.

OK here is what my own "signature" model strat would be like:

Modern shape neck with 12" radius rosewood fretboard. Large 70s style headstock (dunno why I just kinda like em.) 22 medium jumbo frets. Smooth, Satin finish on the back of the neck. Locking tuners and a graphite nut.

The body would be natural wood. Hard to describe but years ago I saw a guy play one which looked like it had been sand blasted and then stained in a fairly dark (almost Teak) wood stain. Didn't look like it had any kind of lacquer on it - I just know it looked fantastic and I want one like that!
White Pearloid scratchplate. 5 way switch and the tone controls hooked up to the middle and bridge pickups. I could never see myself wanting to roll off the tone on the neck pickup on a Strat anyway; I'd get more use out of a tone control for the bridge PU.
Pickups would be Seymour Duncan SSL-3 in the neck and middle positions and a Seymour Duncan Lil Screamin Demon in the bridge.

Speaking of the bridge, an american std bridge and trem would do just fine.

Cheers.

Well, thinking of it- mine would be exactly like an american standard floyd rose... with the old logo. I have a thing for those. Actually, that would be my guitar in Black or Tobacco sunburst with a 1 peice ash body

My 1989 strat plus is close. I would only change 2 major things. I would like H-H configuration with Red lace sensors. I would also like a set neck.

I would want the same mystic black or black burst (whatever you want to call it) and maple neck. Same neck radious, same 2 piece ash, keep LSR roller nut, Schaller locking tuners.

Either that color scheme or Olypic white w/ ebony fret board but same everything else.

I always had a thing for that walnut Strat they offered in the 80's. Would love a modern version of that.

The perfect Stratocaster is the Custom Shop Strat that I actually own, a team-built guitar based on a 1956 Strat (Time Machine Series) including a 10/56 "V" profile neck and off-center seam body. The neck is AA flame maple with a slight tint. I replaced the original bridge and block with a Callaham Vintage S Model Strat Bridge assembly. The pickups are Custom Shop Fat 50's single coils. The body is light weight ash, Bing Cherry transparent color, nickel/chrome vintage staggered tuners with no string tree, 5-way S-1 Switching system and the guitar is finished in all nitro-cellulose lacquer with no undercoat, 6105 frets, 9.5 radius fretboard.

That is the guitar that I was able to afford. When I have real money to burn, I'd have it Masterbuilt with AAAA 1-piece maple neck, medium tint with highly figured Brazilian rosewood fretboard and top grade book matched quilted maple body.

Ideal Strat would have a 1 piece ash body, Cherry Sunburst, second tone control wired to the bridge pickup and 3 mini toggle switches for turning the pickups on and off instead of the 5 way switch, rosewood fingerboard and a vintage style trem. Not sure about the pickups yet maybe some dimarzio areas, thye're the only replacement pickups I've really listened to and was thinking about putting them in my current strat. Before finally deciding on the pickup I would have to poll the forum, some many people here are much more knowledgable than me in those areas.

H-H and set neck?? Has Fender ever had a "Stratocaster" with a set neck?

i'll start with my 2007 american strat with maple fretboard, then the following:

candy apple red OR candy green (always wanted to see more candy green strats)

black pick up covers and knobs (a la 80s)

pickups as per my current: dimarzio heavy blues 2, 2 x pro 54

i haven't decided between hardtail or having a 2 point trem (currently my 2 point is bolted right down with 5 springs)

a slightly shallower neck profile (can someone advise me how to describe the current profile - is it a d shape?)
