I have pretty much made up my mind that the American standard sss is what I want.
Do some of you know if the 2009 model are to the same specs as the 2008?
Do some of you know if there is supposed to be changes to the 2010 model?

Yes the specs are the same. As for the 2010 models I have not heard of any new changes. I own 2 of the new American Standard models and love them both. Not sure how Fender could make them even better.

I've bought way too many guitars new... I prefer the used ones these days... much better value for the dollar IMHO.

I just bought a new '09 and don't regret buying new... it's a guitar I bought with the intention of keeping (famous last words), but already, if I had to sell it or my Deluxe, I'd sell the Deluxe.
