Anybody want to do a swap?

That has got to be one of the best finish's in the catalogue at the moment, aside from red ofcourse (Jk).

Lovely guitars.

Sure, I'll trade Betsy for a Gilmour NOS anytime

Unfortunately I dont own a Gilmour. I do have a black encore with a black scratchplate and white pickups somewhere though. I think one of the tuners is broken.

Do we have a deal?

Hi UKJK: yes. I can easily see the join where the grain of one piece runs into the other just behind the bridge.

Mine's a two piece too.

Lotta nice grain to be seen on this thread. Some tasty ash!

Cheers - C

PS To you and anyone else in the UK, there's about to be a program on BBC Radio 4 at 1.30 about how Pete Townshend got the inspiration for Pinball Wizard from... Purcell. Didn't see that one coming! The program is titled Baroque and Roll. Natch.

[Later] Did anyone else listen? Turned out to be kinda less than I'd hoped for. Meh...

Oh well: onward and upward...

Very nice color. I have never seen it in person. Do they do this for any telecasters?

The American Deluxe Tele comes in Aged Cherry Sunburst...very beautiful, and an excellent guitar as well

Nah sorry couldn't get to it, am watching NASA TV and seeing NASA try and launch the ARES rocket. So far they have been held up by wind and parachute string.

It isn't going well.

Cheers

Hot damn - you've got one as well as the Sienna Strat! That was exactly my idea: I'm green with envy!

One time I actually had the cash in my hot sticky little hand to buy one, but the couple I could find didn't have particularly nice grain, which I kinda require at that price. I asked several shops to order one, but on the basis that I only wanted it if the grain was nice. (Understandably) they weren't prepared to do business on those terms.

Still keeping an eye out, though I couldn't fund it right now even if it came along...

Cheers - C

The pic doesn't really do it justice...the wood is beautiful. I was with the Mrs at the local guitar shop, ran into the Tele by accident, and went right into "Crying & Begging" mode. I had my 50th Birthday coming just 3 short months away, and I offered the "Buy It Now" and give it to me later option. This was my "One Shot" and has not worked again, but it did work that day. I think she was trying to avoid a scene in the store.

Haha - we should never be too proud to beg!

If you're up for it I'd sure like to see a photo of the Strat and Tele together. Folks sometimes ask what the difference is between Sienna and Aged Cherry - so that could be the excuse for a tasty picture...

The Sienna Sunburst is my favorite of all the Fender colors. Unfortunately, the American Deluxe did not come in that color, when I bought it.

I love the sienna burst colour but i ended up with a cherry burst deluxe
because of the above. :)
