Well, let me add one more thing and get your guy's opinion on it. The pickup poles look pretty even. I don't have any noiseless pickups, but from pics I've seen they're a little more staggered, not as much as like the american standard pickups, but staggered more than the ones on his guitar? Any thoughts?

Well I just looked at the Hot Noiseless and they're more even, so it could be the noiseless pickups.

Bert

I'm really sorry to inform you that I think its a fake. The guitar has a squire bridge, brilliant body, Vintage noiseless pickups and a neck with a serial that denotes its a 2001. The fact that I cant think of a guitar with such a nice body yet has those features and a neck with those unusualy spaced 12thfret dots, pretty much confirms it for me.

The fender decal on the headstock looks to be more late80's/ early 90's too.

Sorry mate thats one sexy looking guitar with some great hardware on it. I wouldnt let the fact that its not what it claims to be, upset me. If it plays and sounds nice, then its a good guitar.

I believe that neck is a Mighty Mite.

Someone had a Peavey predator on Craigslist and it's a strat type guitar so I was looking up pics, and the bridge looks a lot like this one, but looks like it onlyu has 4 screws holding it down, but the saddles look the same. Here's a pic.

Yeah Jason those eastern parts are quite generic in design. That 4 screw trem has a weird attraction though.

Hi all:

Well, after all that I still don't know what to make of this. Those suspecting a partsacaster seem to have a strong case - but if so, they're mostly decent parts (the tuners and pickups).

I'd love to know where the body came from - I LOVE IT! If it's Warmoth or Mighty Mite I think it will say so in the neck pocket, no?

Bert'72: you can now clear up at least one aspect of this. Against mounting expectation could this be a real Fender after all? Send an email to Customer Services at consumerrelations@fender.com , tell them the serial number and include a link to your photographs. If it is a model none of us know they will be able to tell you.

'Fraid I'm now on the side of the doubters - but who cares? Ignoring the decal it's a neat guitar with decent parts and a literally unique burr topped body.

I know others will disagree but I'd be delighted to have that guitar. There's more to a nice instrument than a brand name.

Cheers - C
