Hey guys.
I restrung my 2009 usa strat this week and have just noticed that my bridge is sitting differently.
Im guessing I have done something when restringing it.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem and tell me how to fix it?
Thanks!

Looks like you might have put heavier guage strings on her and needs a complete setup. The increase string tension lifts the bridge.

I'm no expert, all can tell is that it looks like it's sitting a little high off the body. You may have to tighten up the trem spring claw a bit to bring it closer to the body. And what is that little piece of sponge?

Give the trem claw about a half turn on each side, then retune strings. If the bridge height is better, check the intonation, and you are done!

Looks like the way I have mine set. The open G should pull up to around Bb with that. It may be a little high for you though, if so do as others have said. Tighten the screws on the tremclaw. One tip though. Turn both screws the same amount and you will keep your trem equally balanced across the strings. I put a tipex dot on my screwdriver shank so I can acurrately judge when the screw has had a full turn. If I turn one screw 3/4's (example)of a turn, the other screw gets exactly the same amount.

Ditto to all the above. A side point: that bottom E saddle is set absolutely flat to the bridge plate. Perhaps that is where it needs to be, but of itself that just makes me want to check the action on this guitar to be sure.

How does your action feel to you, simpo03?

Also, remember that any of these adjustments will affect your intonation, so once everything else is right you need to recheck that, too.

BTW: Bathead, if I'm understanding what you're looking at then I think that piece of "sponge" you are seeing is the coating on simp03's trem block - no?

Cheers - C
