hi as i have been searching for information about fender highway one stratocasters made before 2006 .

i have a question about the body of the highway one made before 06
are the body's made of 4 piece alder or 3 piece

i recently bought a hw1 made in 03 with 4 piece alder body any info would be greatly appreciated to identify it being the original body .

I bet you can find them with either number. I have one that's 4 pieces, but very nicely matched up. Who knows what percentage of either? That kind of info just isn't available.

thanks for your help i have been looking through the reviews on harmony central and there is both 3 and 4 piece body's reviewed on the hw1 model.

There are very few Strat models that would have bodies always made of the same number of pieces, guitar after guitar. The Eric Johnson is the only one that comes to mind (they are 2 piece, even though he originally wanted 1 piece). Generally, the more expensive models have the fewest pieces, but it varies. So I would guess more American Standards and Deluxes are 3 pieces and more Highway Ones are 4 pieces.

If you post pictures of the body, we could tell you if it looks original.
Does it have a satin finish?
