Any straplock that doesn't let your guitar go "bonk" on the floor is a good one!

Schallers for me also. Don't know if anyone else has this problem with them though but I have to put Loctite on the threads as the little ball end (which you pull to release them) kept unscrewing and falling off.

When I install the female part on the strap I let the guitar hang on my body naturally with the locks loose on the strap. With the guitar hanging in my natural position I reposition the ends so the horseshoe is facing straight up. I remove the strap from the guitar and using several layers of cotton fabric to protect the lock from damage I secure the horseshoe side with a pair of pliers and put a box end wrench to the nut and tighten until the leather starts to compress. I reinstall the strap to double check the orientation and if I need to readjust I do so. Then I re tighten until I start to worry the threads might strip if I go any tighter. It's a feel thing. Then it's tight enough and it will never come off unless I put a wrench to it. I imagine it prolly would not work on a synthetic strap but I never use those.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

What sort of stage gymnastics are y'all performing that causes your strap to pop off!?
