This is what I use.

Cheap as chips at £1.50 each, and work well with anything. My guitars that came with schallers I use the schallers on. I wont pay those extortionate prices though.

WOrks with any guitar and any strap. And gives you +10 punk rock points.

I had to use duct tape on my acoustic guitar when the strap kept falling off. It was at a charity/nursing home type gig. I don't think I got any punk rock points from them.

Get a 4 pack of Grolsch with the ceramic pop tops; after emptying the bottle (mandatory), take the red washer off the ceramic top and put them over the strap - they are the best locks I have ever used - plus you gt to drink the beer.

I like Dunlops the most. I like their dual purpose strap button because I have been known to space out these days. Guess senility is kicking in.

I like the Schallers for my Fender guitars and the Dunlops for my Gibsons. Seems like the screws on the Schallers are about the same as the factory strap screws on Fender guitars, and the dunlop screws are closer to the Gibsons. I dont like to have to modify things if I can avoid it. Never had a problem with either one, but I do like the Schallers best.

Check this out. I used to use those plastic bread bag things. Worked great and every time you get a new loaf of bread or buger rolls, you get a new strap lock. :D

I've had the same problem with Schallers. I've found that I also need to shave the leather down on the strap beneath the washer. Without threadlock checking that your nuts aren't dangling that should be compulsory. (You know what I mean!)

The Dunlops don't rely on screw threads. After sandwiching the leather between the top half and the bottom half, the unit is secured via a snap in horse shoe type locking washer. I've never had a problem with these.

I also use Schaller strap locks on every single guitar I own. It's the first thing I do to any new guitar purchase. I actually go a step further by installing screws which are longer than the stock Schaller screws. I saw a guy drop his SG on stage a couple years ago. Broke the headstock clean off. That's never going to happen to me if I can help it.

+1 on that, I use these on my strat and I too had to apply locktite to the strap side because the nut kept coming loose. Very easy to use and very secure once you do the loktite thing.

For my Les Paul I use the dunlop dual design straplok system, also great strap locks but on these I have to always make sure that the C-clip that holds the strap to the lock is always on. I have had that fall off once, and that's once too many.

Both are great items in my opinion and either one will do.
