people from the uk, how much are strings there? just curious. i use d'addrio orange 10-46 and they cost anywhere between $7 - $9 a pack. but i get em for $5 each (by box of 20)

I'm not in the UK , but a quick search of UK shops showthem to be about 7 pounds or 11.50 u.s.

Cheapest I've found for a set of Ernie Balls for about £11.99 for a set of 3, i.e. $6.50 each.

Theres the diaddarios. I buy the fender 10's in a box of 12 sets and get em at £3.40 per set. Great deal and a set of 12 is a stringchange every month per guitar for £41.60. Postage is only a couple of quid too.

at one point i was using this brand of strings Elixr?sp. they were in the range of $13 - $19 per pack!! (6 strings). had to put an end to that after realizing that they only lasted a bit longer than ordinary nickel strings. what a waste looking back on it now.

I buy mine from www.stringsdirect.co.uk . I buy big batches of D'Addarios, Rotosounds or Fender Bullets and with the bulk order discount they come in around £4 / $6.50 a set.

I buy packs of singles in my various sizes too.

I used Elixirs too... sound good, and they do last long to a point, but the coating starts to deteriorate on the wound strings. I went back to Ernies.

I use stringsdirect usually, but the last lot I got from Amazon.co.uk
