I have a 1991 Stratocaster Ultra in grey sunburst I've had since new.

It has the lace sensors on it- I took them off and put kinman single coils on, but then I put them back in again recently to return it to original. They actually sound much better than I remember- not particularly Stratty, but a fat smooth sound, great sustain. Dare I say it, almost Gibson like, esp with front, mid and the twin back pickups together on the middle position!

I'd be interested to chat to anyone who's got one, or who's got any questions...

I have a 95 Blue Burst that is one of the best looking Strats I own or have ever seen. I think they were great guitars and had put up a post a few months ago saying they should bring it back with a few tweaks. Since Metal and shred are such hot styles I believe a revamped Ultra would be a huge seller and the perfect ax for those styles. Mine is the only Strat I use the wammy on ,as it holds its tuning better than any other strat. I guess even though it is not locking Floyd just makes a great trem.On my Beck two bombs and the whole guitar is out.
