I am a big fan of the neck position pickup for my Strat tones. So having the bridge Humbucker is like having a second guitar at my ready for the hard rockin' songs.

Orville.....you GET me.....you really get me!!!! (BIG sloppy totally heterosexual kiss on the forehead!!!!)

That was my whole point!!!

NOW..........I can get off my soapbox!!!! :D

(wiping off the goo from the bangs of my Beatles hairdo) ah, yes, I've been on that page for a while. Because I mostly use the neck pickup on my Strats.

The HSS is like two-guitars-in-one only if you are not a single-coil bridge pickup player. But I guess a guy who mainly plays on the bridge (or bridge/middle) single-coil position could put a Humbucker in the neck position! Sort of like the Tele Custom model!

I like the bridge pickup position for that high twangyjangly sound clean. I've got a Jag with a couple dragsters for my humbucky stuff. But everyone has their own choices that suit their style.

Yep , I use the bridge /middle quite a bit for that Southern Rock sound.Listen to "sweet home alabama" or "i know a little" and thats what i mean. The humbucker is good for overdrive/distortion, but clean the bridge is nice sounding imo.
