Brad

This guy Jim has mounted a personal assault directly at me. This has nothing to do with disagreement about a post. This is about insult and disrespect, rudeness and slander. I have attached an apology even though I have nothing to apologize for. I have requested an apology in return, and I was told to "Stroke Off". Sorry Brad but I am not a dog and I will not publicly be treated like one either. I'm sure that if someone personally disrespected you this way in this arena, you would demand an apology as well.

Jim

First I am actually sorry that you are having a problem with your MIJ, I really do love all guitars, and I hate hearing when one is having a problem. I hope that your problem is easily resolved.

That being said...I would like to introduce myself to you...I am not an "Elitist Snob" by any means. I am a hard working guy in the Concrete Redi-MIx industry, drive a Ford PU truck and save all my hard earned pennies to hope to buy more guitars. I do not have a "Blithering Time Trying To Understand" anything. I have a college education, speak several languages, and have been involved in the music industry for most of my life. I am not at all "Narrow Minded" but exactly the opposite. Very open minded, and extremely liberal. I do not lead a "Pathetic Shallow Life" in any way. I am married to the same wonderful woman for 35 years, we have 2 terrific children, a great home in So Florida, a dog, a cat and a great guitar collection. "Anally Retentive"? I will support my opinions, as I would expect you to do as well.

If anything I said to you during our original discussion was offensive, I apologize for this.

Please reply at your convenience

Noodles

Regardless of the who-said-what, who-did-what ... conversations like this simply tend to reach a point where hashing them out online no longer makes sense nor really achieves anything. Notice that I'm not pointing fingers nor placing blame one way or another -- just politely requesting that ya'll exchange e-mail addresses and take your continuing disagreement offline.

Brad

Please ask Jim to apologize (publicly) for attacking me (publicly), as I have already done, and this will all be over.

Thanks
Noodles

I assure you that I do not condone any insults and personal attacks that you've received and if that style of communication continues over time, an individual will ultimately find him/herself banned here. That said, as a moderator I'm not going to engage to the level you're requesting above -- beyond again stating the obvious fact that your disagreement has become tiresome to our communiuty and I'd again ask that you both take that portion of your discussion offline. Let's keep it focused on gear!!

Brad

I realize that you probably have much better things to do than listen to this banter. I would think that asking for an apology (publicly) would not be any kind of big deal. I only requested that you ask because as Forum Moderator I thought that you were the one to enforce the "rules" under the Code of Conduct.

Rule #4 addresses the harass & abuse of other users
Rule #7 addresses the publishing of defamatory material

Lets consider this a Formal Complaint against (lomitus) for abuse of the Forum Code of Conduct

Thanks
Noodles

Brad usually gives 2 or 3 warnings before banning depending on the offence committed. Some posters are immediately banned.
I have to add that Brad is very evenhanded in his role and will try reason when applicable.

Hop

Im not looking for anyone to get banned from anything, or even warned. I only asked for an apology from Jim, who was abusive, insulting, rude and disrespectful to me, having nothing to do with the subject we discussed. It was a personal attack which certainly deserves a simple apology.

Thanks
Noodles

Understood. I've made several apologies myself in the past here on the forum and strive to stay out of those situations. Peace.

Noted and acknowledged. Now ... back to gear discussion now, please!

So its my fault now? Ok is that because I made the OP where the argument originated? Liability is reaching new levels isnt it?

I stick with lets have squealy pickups, it makes a great effect when its under control.

I just thought your idea for a "squeal box" was a bit outlandish so I dubbed it a "nina-madness" idea (sounds a bit better than "ninja-loony") :D .

Then I got to thinking that some players might actually dig the effect and that you should copyright the idea before a box shows up on the market and you go . . . HEY THAT'S MY BOX!
