I have a 1995 MIM Jimmy Vaughn. When I bought it there where stickers all over it saying it's a JV with Tex-Mex pups. Mine has the rosewood fretboard and I love it. But there is no JV signature on the headstock. Does anyone have one with a sig? Not that I care, but if I ever go to sell this I might be challenged. Of course now that I changed the trem to a 62RI trem, this baby really sings out. I just love this axe! Just curious to see what others have.

I have a 2007 JV Strat, Olympic White/Maple, and it does have Jimmie Vaughan's signature on the back of the headstock.

It's an excellent guitar. Love the soft V neck and the Tex Mex pickups with tone control for the bridge. It's right at the top of my all time favorite MIM Strats list along with the Classic Player 60s.

I've never heard of one with a rosewood neck, and I've never heard of one lacking a signature. Did you check the serial number? Are you sure it has the original neck?

Ya, it's all original, I bought it new from the dealer in 1997. It has a 50th Anniv sticker on the back of the head stock. I've sent all the info over to customer service, but the more digging I'm doing I don't believe it's a JV either. They made a MIM Tex-Mex special in 1996 for the 50th anniversary, even though my SN is '95, this is that model. Meets all the other specs. Great guitar, love the sound with the new steel trem, but that's all it is. Looks like a 60' version with tex-mex's.

Thanks for the input!

Ok, Mike E directed me to customer relations. First off, they are awesome, responded right away.

No, it's not a JV. But I'm pretty jazzed that it is a special/deluxe version that came out only for one year (1996) for the 50th Anniversary with the Tex-Mex pups on it. May not be worth any real value, but to me it's a rare blues beast, and I love the tone.

Sounds great , I tried a JV once and was really prepared to like it, but the neck didnt do it for me .It felt sticky .I like the texmex pickups though, and with a rosewood neck, killer.

Ok, here's the pic's you asked for. Looks just like your standard black strat, but with the really killer rosewood fretboard. But under the hood are those awesome tex-mex, and again I changed the trem to an original 62RI. The one in the MIM are zinc, the RI is steel and makes a big difference. I forgot to mention, I like a very low action, so I put the 5 springs in and dropped it down almost flush with the body, to me, gave it a great tone without blocking it.

I'm a blues guys, so I also have to tell you I've spent $$$ on strings, pack after pack, replacing only after a couple weeks until I found "my" killer tone I was looking for. DR Pure Blues 10's. I might go to 11's when my fingers can handle it :-). I play through a '65 DRRI with the "Blues Forever" tube set from Torres Eng. WOW, this amp is made for blues!

Now I just need to learn to play and I'll be all set :-)
