its true you cant find alot of the vintage appointments, maybe thats one of the reasons i like them.I like the pickups and I really like the delta tone wiring. I am not one to spend alot of time modding this or modding that, so I like to buy a guitar that I like right out of the box.The thing I like about Fender is there is just about something for everyone.Different radius, differnt pickups , different wiring , the list goes on and on.I am glad that they offer something for everyone and in every price range. What I find annoying is when someone says their MIM is better than the MIA or their MIA puts others MIM to shame. What someone pointed out is they really are totally different animals.I have played guitars that I didnt like for various reasons like I didnt like the neck shape, I didnt care for the sound of the pickups, the 6 point bridge, etc.I have passed on my share of MIA guitars for that reason.I would say to me the biggest deterrent from buying a MIM in the past has been most of them were poorly set up , whereas the MIAs were mostly set up descently.I am sure there were some MIMs that could be a great guitar with a descent setup, but I didnt know that without a doubt, so I passed.

And lets be clear, these Classic series guitars are great players out of the box, they don't need to be modified to be great.

It's not Fender's job to fine tune and tweak guitars. They're job is to build them. The tweaking and tuning and setup are left to the consumer.

Doing a basic "ballpark "setup is certainly Fenders job, setting the innotation is part of quality control, its kind of imporant.
