I bought my custom classic and 50th anni deluxe via ebay, kinda. What I tend to do is approach the seller tell em I'll pay cash on collection. Try the guitar out with the green in my pocket. If its ok, I part with cash, if not, I depart. Its the only way to buy a guitar ever and will certainly stop you buying a new guitar with med-jumbo frets that are ground down. :?

Maybe one seller on the face of the earth would actually allow this. Great idea in theory but in practice a whole different ball game.

Hello Bluesstrattone,

I buy and sell on ebay and for the most part
things have been straight and forward. In 14
years only 2 deals were sendbacks and the
sellers agreed that their wares hadn't been
described accuratley. PayPal gives me a bit
of a sense of security.

Cheers.

Oh yeah and a blues junior, a marshall jcm800, and numerous pedals too. A couple of clapton midboost's, 2 guitar bodies, 3 trussrods and a bundle of fretwire. Its happend more than twice even. That was only since march last year, do I have to go on. I simply dont use paypal, dont have an account, dont worry if someone gives me negative feedback (which they dont). If I'm buying I have the power of money, thats all you need in this world.

I buy and sell guitars on Ebay frequently and haven't had problems. As with anything else "caveat emptor" (buyer beware).

 If the deal sounds too good to be true, it is.
 If the seller doesn't know squat about guitars, don't buy from them.
 Ask all questions well in advance, if you don't get an answer (or you get an evasive answer) don't buy.
 Watch out for crazy excessive shipping charges.

ok, would you say a 1300+ for a 2500 2007 custom shop, or 1300 for a eclapton 2008 too good to be true.
or would you call it a good deal.

Hello Mthorn00

Oh yeah this one got me once.
$20 for a book that came about 100miles.
Now I check shipping cost first.

Cheers

The prices you mentioned for the models you named fall within the parameters of what is being sold on Ebay right now so that's a good thing. Ask some questions about specfic details of the guitars and if the anwers come back "correct" go ahead and buy it. Most reputable sellers know their guitars and will answer your questions in detail and send you additional pictures and/or close ups of things you want to konw about.

Twice still is a minute figure. The seller certainly can't count on the buyer being honest and actually paying for the guitar. The buyer could easily take the guitar and run with it. Would you send a guitar to somebody that you don't know thousands of miles from you without collecting payment first?

That is not how business is done.

I've bought a lot more parts than I have complete instruments on the bay.

I've had some good luck and some not so good experiences, but as it's written, on whatever it is that they wrote it on back then :? nothing ventured, nothing gained or you only live once, go for whatever floats your boat.

i am very detailed.
i can spot a fake. if i look hard enough.
if i can find a 2005,6,7, or 8 for a fair price, i would probably jump at it.

Maybe one seller on the face of the earth was your initial inaccurate statement. I've bought from way more than one seller without ever engaging any form of internet banking/payment programs. So I do business how business isnt done? What a farcical statement. Do you know how many years the 2nd hand guitar market has been around? You really should think a little more before making these ridiculous statements, you make yourself look foolish, ignorant and arrogant. I however have purchased well over £4000 worth of used equiptment over ebay since January, and you have the sheer ordacity to tell me thats not how the world works? I think some growing up is in order.

Mmmm...very difficult to believe. I guess I'll have to try it and see how far I get.
