How would you like a new Eric Johnson Stratocaster? Sure, nice guitar... but how about one that looks like it got hit by a bus? I puked when I saw this. Stop the madness...

I hope you had a bucket with you.

It's actually one of the better home-made relic jobs I've seen.

It looks like someone is practicing his relicing techniques.

Call me in a couple years .... and we'll see what he produces ...

These look like the relics of someone who keeps their guitars on the back porch inbetween the muddy workboots and the kid's skateboard.

Naaah, I think a skateboard would cause more realistic relicing.

Hello Nevin1985,

That kind of stuff never ceases to amaze me.
I have to wonder how many of these relicing
maniac's take a hammer & file to their car to
make it have that well driven look.

Cheers.

Daaaaang! Only really good guitars get played that much. That must be worth some serious cash. I am amazed at the "pick"/dirty sandpaper scratches on the pg by the selecter switch. Custom!

Fender need only look at ebay for future road worn shop builders, or should I say scratchers?

I love a good relic but geez.

Firstly that EJ looks like some one got a bit excited with the dremel.

That "Strat" and "Tele"??? I hope the person selling them eats shite and dies. They aren't even Fenders (obviously) but how does attacking everything with 60grit sandpaper make it a relic?

By the way has anyone ever seen or played a guitar that had all the finish removed from headstock to heel from years of genuine hard playing? I've seen from frets 2-5 worn through in patches of a 60's strat neck not the entire neck though!

:x That Tele looks almost like it's hurting.

I'd be tempted to buy just to restore it and show it some respect..

Wow. Thats bad. There's a guy on the Les Paul forum that does some really great relic work. This guy has no f*cking clue. I am going on one year for my relic Stratocaster project. Aside from a couple scratches and dents, progress is going slowly.

Actually, the EJ is pretty good for a relic.
