Another "pick which guitar is better" poll.

Just please tell me which is best! (I'm deciding!).

Thanks (leave your answer in the poll).

All the guitars in your list are great guitars. I personally own the Highway 1, and I absolutely love it. As you can see in my sig, my Highway 1 is highly modified. But in my honest opinion the American Deluxe just has more bang for the buck right out of the box (also a little more expensive up front). This is because most of my modifications come standard on the American Deluxe.

If you are able, when you go to purchase your next guitar, play all the ones on you list. Play several of each model. The one that feels the best and suites your ear is the best one for you. If you are unable to do a "feel" test, use Youtube and see which one sounds the best to you. You do have to remember to that amp and effects may be different from your own rig.

Good luck on your purchace and please let us know what you decided on.

'62 was the first year of the "L" series, the serial# was prefixed by an L. A lot of people,me included, think they are the best sounding Strats, they have a bell-like ring to their tone especially when you hit a harmonic, their "out of phase"settings sound really sweet"Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix was said to have been done on an "L" series. My '65 "L" series sings unlike my other Strats if the '62 reissue sounds half as good it's a great guitar but as in a previous post it depends on the sound you want or hear in your head.

I would like to vote for an "L" series Strat too, but I don't see that as an option!

Hi Orville;I think you maybe missed part of my post,I said if the '62 reissue is based on the L series it would be a great guitar. So if it is the L series is somewhat of an option.

Hi coolvictor25: money no object, I'd be torn between an American Standard and an American Deluxe. Though I don't see the Am Std on your list for some reason...?

Sometimes I lust for the abalone dot markers and sculpted neck heel on the Deluxe - and sometimes I feel that's a touch too flashy on a Strat. Hence my dilemma.

None of the ones on your list should disappoint you though.

Cheers - C

There is no one "best" Fender guitar. All Fender guitars are the best, long as they are made with the same quality, craftsmanship and spirit the company is known for. To say one model is the best is merely nitpicking due to one's personal preferences (maple vs rosewood, nitro vs urethane, bright vs warm, ash vs alder, 7.25 vs 9.5 radius, noiseless vs vintage, black vs white, etc..........). I would say buy them all, that way you don't have to ask yourself if you bought the best one. :P

I agree with the previous posts and believe that what one person thinks is "best" may not be for another.

My choice isn't listed either.

Hi Mate- I chose the Am Deluxe. Purely from a players perspective. I dont like gloss finished necks.. and I think the quality of hardware is second to none. Have you considered a MIA '70's re-issue or a mint strat plus or similar? I like the fat headstocks

My first choice was an ash deluxe mia in tobacco burst, untill I saw the tangerine. Its a wierd but beautiful colour- and now you cant get it anymore makes it a little more special in the sense that they arent easy to come by. It sits in its case under the bed while the ultra gets played :)

I went with the 62 re-issue or I would also like the Classic Player 60's Stratocaster--which isn't a choice.

They all have the same basic body shape and feel, but these two have the best necks for my hands.

I like the pick ups on both, so what's not to love--so if anyone feels generous--that's what I'd like.

Sadly I can't afford either right now.

I have a 2007 Am/Dlx and a brand new Highway One. I love both of them but if you put a gun to my head and told me to choose I's go with the H1. It's the difference between a pristine choir girl and a screaming banshee.

I voted American Deluxe, because I have one, but like someone has said, different guitars for different things.

I'm paraphrasing what a guy said on another thread, but the Deluxe is like dating a nice catholic schoolgirl... just don't expect it to be as dirty as the skank that drags you into the back of your car. :D
