Turn off the caps lock. You are shouting, and your posts are too hard to read in caps.

Too bad as far as I know its only 1 yr warranty on electronics...

the knobs are just pressed on as far as I know, just pull up on the knob.

Caps do not mean someone is shouting (It means they have their caps lock button on).
Ease up, dude.....

Welcome to the Forum.

All Caps is considered shouting in forums. It makes it a little hard to read at times too.

Sounds like a loose wire. Take a look under the pickguard for loose or broken wires.

It would be nice to read the rules of forum use before using. Poster is correct about "shouting" as you can see in point 12 of this link to rules.

Sorry to offend anybody, not my intent. Just asking questions. As in the
opening statement.
Thanks for the info.

It could be something as simple as a cold solder joint, however you really want to take it to a Fender authorized repair shop unless you're comfortable with complex electronic wiring. The wiring diagram can be located on the page for your particular strat. The first thing I would do is re-melt all of the solder connections for the neck pickup and see if that helps.

The S1 switching system is not exactly a cake walk for a newbie to electronics. Thankfully I never had any problems with mine but when I took a look under the hood I was surprised how much more complicated it was. Also, to be perfectly honest, I didn't find the S1 to be all that useful. I sold that guitar and don't miss it at all.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
