I'm in the market for an American Standard. I'm not sure if I should buy now at regular price or wait for perhaps some holiday specials?

Does Fender or their dealers tend to offer good discounts around Christmas time?

I've been told by the insiders at Guitar Center that Black Friday is the day to buy. Lowest prices you'll see during any calendar year. (Day after Thanksgiving)....

Yeah, even the outsiders like me will tell you that. Last year, they gave a 15% discount. The only other thing to consider is the MF "Fender Fridays". Last week was THE week to get one ... they had MIA Deluxes (in Sunburst - the best finish, no less) at almost half off at $899. Wow, that was a beyond a great deal.

Unreal. They were sold at cost. Probably sold them all to make room for the 2010s.

Don't discount buying used through craigslist ... there are many people out there that buy guitars and hardly ever use them. You can get a great deal that way... i did .. many times (two MIA standards and one Deluxe MIA).

I wouldn't go ebay's way unless you know what you're doing ... with Cl you have the chance to see what you buy before you pay...
Good Luck
Hisham

You can see what you buy with Ebay too. There is no difference. In fact the photos that people upload on Craigslist are poor compared to what is on Ebay.

I just pickup a deal on a as good as new 07 Deluxe Strat HSS....... I live in a large market and there is always a good selection of used new instuments.

I always buy something when I see what I want......hopefully I dont over pay. I was looking for an American strat for 5 months before I found this one.

I for one am holding out for Black Friday. I have seen some good deals already, which means Black Friday should be great.

Should be some interesting deals then. That Jimmy Vaughn for 499.00 is a killer price. 8) Mike
